Naturally, European History is the study of the
history of Europe. Many of the topics are embedded
in World History and Western History, but here the
topics tend to center upon the nations, regions, and
cultures that are unique to Europe.
Taken alone, European History has nominal value
as a
career asset. Its value is greatly magnified,
however, when it is bundled with other
stronger subjects such as
World History,
Western History, European languages and cultural
studies,
European Literature, and
Sociology.
Of course there are professional
historians, mostly history teachers. History studies
have relatively high
career asset
value as a
wrapper for critical research and thinking
skills that apply to a broad spectrum of
seemingly unrelated career descriptors—business,
public service, law, authors, literary agents, film
critics, to name just a view
