effects of various media; in particular, the 'mass
media'. Media studies may draw on traditions from
both the social sciences and the humanities, but
mostly from its core disciplines of mass

All
of the major topics for Media Studies have a very high
career asset
value. The reason is that communication—whether
for business, entertainment, or education—is
in high demand, and will remain that way into the
foreseeable future.
Those who make serious study of the
media aren't bound to that kind of profession, either.
The levels of creativity, problem solving, people
skills, quick thinking, and willingness to acquire new
skills are the most valued career assets across the
entire spectrum of professional careers.
