For avid lifelong learners, the goal of religion and spirituality is NOT necessarily to line up the world religions and analyze their differences and similarities. The "comparative" adjective implies that sort of analysis. The real excitement--a pursuit that has virtually no end--is in lining uip those religions and seeking the things they have in common. The latter approach promises to expose the inner substance of the human experience. The former approach, however, is responsible for unimaginable human suffering.
