Look Inside and Search

When you click on one of the book covers shown below, you will be taken to Amazon's free program that allows you to browse and search terms inside the book. Then just click on the "Look Inside" arrow that appears above image of the cover. As experienced self-directed learners know very well, this kind of book browsing is a very effective and sustainable learning process.

Bragging Rights

Assembly language programming -- there was a time when that was THE only totally dependable programming process. I know. I was there; and I had a chance to write a book about it.

The time was the early 80s, and a lot of us younger people were jumping at the chance to tame the latest-and-greatest microprocessor chips ... Z-80, 8080A, 8085, 6502, and 6800. I was teaching electronics when this whole thing got started, and I was setting up my own R&D consulting firm about the time I completed the manuscript for this book.

You can still find some copies floating around the online used-book shops on the web (including Amazon), but of course the content is terribly dated and probably of interest only to someone messing around with the history of the digital age.

I'm retired now, spending most of my time working on this Free-Ed.Net website. But if I could return to professional programming, my first choice would be to work at the assembly language level.
