Welcome to the School of Creative Writing at Free-Ed.Net. If you have ever studied creative writing in the traditional format, you are going to find your experiences here to be rather unusual. How so? This school is a product of the 21st century digital culture, and it serves that culture in every respect. You will find little or none of the traditional author-wannabe rhetoric. For example the editor/publisher is no longer the god of writing success. "Getting published" is no longer an elusive goal. YOU are the one in control of your destiny as an author!

Fiction

Human beings generally like stories. They like to hear them and they like to tell them. A few are better at making up stories and telling them. These are potential writers of fiction.

If we look deep enough, the old notion that "everyone has a novel in them," is quite true. If not a novel, then certainly some great short stories.

From children's books to novels of romance and intrigue, the Fiction office at Free-Ed.Net is designed to help you stir your imagination and transform your passion into print.

Creative Nonfiction

Old-school authors and editors might regard the term "creative non-fiction" as an oxymoron. But the expression unties some rhetorical knots that often confused the way manuscripts are created, edited, published, and sold.

Becoming an author of creative nonfiction can be a very exciting, rewarding, and ulcerative career. Or not. It depends entirely upon you.  But we can help you figure out a path that is right for you.
